Fabulous country to drive through in a 4x4 taking in the spectacular scenery of the Drakensburg. We find Knysna more charming than it's neighbouring Plettenberg.

Love every aspect of this glorious country, and particularly enjoyed losing ourselves within it's majestic hinterland. South Africans are wonderful hosts and food is always excellent!

We were the first guests on this idyllic island visiting days before the Lodge was officially opened by Nelson Mandela.

Arriving at the island was itself an adventure!

Managed by Cabo Delgado Biodiversity and Tourism we enjoyed the eco and conservation focussed tourism: deep sea fishing for our food, rescuing baby turtles to put them in the sea, snorkelling (diving kit had yet to arrive) and relaxing.
